Branding and Email Management for After the Harvest Fundraiser (2014)
Developed the graphic design and media to support a “Harvest Happy Hour” fundraiser in October 2014 for After the Harvest, a Kansas City area hunger-relief organization. The slightly retro look depicts their mission of connecting farmers and volunteers to pantries. The apple reflects the fall harvest season when the organization coordinates produce donations from area orchards. My work involved creating the design, developing a postcard-size invitation, formatting the design for different media spaces -- Facebook, Twitter, and the website -- and delivering an email message using Mailchimp.
Coordinated graphic design to support a new slogan for KKFI's October 4-13, 2013 on-air pledge drive. We teamed to brainstorm a "Free-Range Radio" slogan to connect to KKFI's grassroots and "unfettered" programming. This design was selected from a project we posted to the crowd-sourcing DesignCrowd site. The slogan and design were used throughout the website and email spaces the radio station uses to communicate with listeners and supporters. My work involved formatting the design for different media spaces (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, others) and delivering email messages using ConstantContact.
To provide a more modern method to provide updates to employees the Harvesters Human Resources requested a digital display TV to replace the employee bulletin board. The old-fashioned bulletin board at Harvesters was a democratic and free space to share information, but times have changed. Digital display solutions are much like designing a web page, but with a higher expectation of relevance and fresh content since these units will be displayed in employee breakrooms.
- I reviewed low-cost, effective solutions commonly used in public spaces like hospitals, universities, airports, well, just about everywhere nowadays.
- Developed a basic theme and documentation for less technical staff to update information. The challenge is to incorporate active content relevant to employees -- Harvesters' Twitter feed, employee photos, weather, time/date, news.

Developed graphic design to support KKFI's 25th anniversary slogan "Celebrating 25 Years of People-Powered Radio" for the February 8-17, 2013 on-air pledge drive. This design was used throughout the website and email spaces the radio station uses to communicate with listeners and supporters. I also formatted and delivered two email messages using ConstantContact.

To support the major event, 400 photos of bands and musicians were posted to Facebook, Flickr and Twitter. Key performance indicators on Facebook showed a large increase in visitors, reach, people talking about and sharing the event. My part in the publicity included posting all photos with captions and responding to all comments.
