As publicity coordinator for the three-month effort, I developed news releases, email communication, web and print publicity materials.
Mission – CJME is a Kansas City area peace group that educates the public about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and encourages people to actively work to end US support for the occupation.
Vision - CJME is a leading community voice seeking a non-violent resolution to the conflict. We support direct relief efforts from the occupation and advocate for an even-handed US foreign policy in the Middle East.
Building a relationship with Hope Flowers School will provide, not only a human face to the occupation, but also allow us to more effectively do media and legislative advocacy.
We may not be able to directly, immediately change U.S. or Israeli policy in the Middle East, however we can have an impact on conditions with our direct financial and personal support for Hope Flowers School. Through this support we can more humanely highlight the occupation practices and devastation. Hope Flowers will serve as a microcosm of the occupation and resistance.

Report on fundraising, publicity –
- $3000 was raised through small fundraiser dinners at two area restaurants.
- $4300 was raised at the major fundraising event on October 13. Samir Awad, a KC area resident, who was born and raised near Bethlehem, Palestine, was the featured speaker at the event.
